Celebrated Mother's Day here with my Daughter-in-law and Granddaughter. It was a lovely, peaceful and memorable experience. Parasols , China, and lace...delicious teas and dainty treats added to the occasion. Many thanks to all who made this a delightful event for my family.
This is the best tea room in Richmond. The quality of the food and amount of items for the price point is unbeatable. The service is always great and the atmosphere is cozy.
Went this morning for a Christmas tea experience that was a gift for my husband. The tea was delicious, the food was phenomenal and the service was outstanding. Everyone was so warm and kind. The atmosphere is cute and quaint. I loved the decor and the china. I’m vegetarian and told them ahead of time so they were able to substitute a few items for me which was so thoughtful. Such a memorable experience and hope we can do it again sometime!
Absolutely fantastic Valentine’s Tea! This is one of the top Tearooms I have ever been to! And, I have been to a lot! The service, the staff, and the food was spot on! The Chef is culinary trained and it shows! The food is made with love and attention to detail! We will definitely be back! Worth going to!
We had such a lovely time today! It was our first tea with Southern Serenity, but it won't be our last!!! All the fresh baked breads, soups, scones and desserts were beyond delicious!!! Thank you ladies for such a wonderful meal and atmosphere! Looking forward to our next visit!!
Second Review! Back Again! Absolutely fantastic time, and this visit surprised my mother by bringing her! She and my girlfriend loved everything, girlfriend’s favorite is the Cranberry Pecan Scone with Devonshire Cream, and mom’s favorite was the Cucumber Sandwich. My favorite was the roasted pumpkin soup! The soup was creamy and reminded me of a seasonal corn tortilla soup, instead of corn you have pomegranate seeds and pumpkin seeds! On a brisk day like today the pumpkin was perfect. The cranberry autumn tea was the favorite that we had this time! The service is friendly, professional and kind! This is truly a wonderful unique experience in Midlothian, and I highly recommend you plan your next visit. This time I didn’t need to put down a deposit for a table as well. Original Review: First time coming and made a reservation online which required a 20 deposit which is applied to the bill upon check out. The atmosphere was whimsical and really helped set the mood. The food was immaculate and the attention to detail in each bite is really well crafted. The hostess Farrell was very polite, friendly and professional. The chef and owner is the one who brought out our food but even explained everything going on with each bite size morsel. My one request was decaf tea which we had Berry Compote & Golden Berry tea. Both tea options complimented the food which was summer inspired very nicely! It was a lovely lunch, and we are excited to return at a later date. Our favorites of the course was the Macadamia Nut Scone with Devonshire Cream and Peach Cobbler Bread Pudding bite! The hard part is you want to eat way more than just a bite! You can tell the staff, employees, and customers really care about the establishment and what it offers to the community. Tax and a 20% gratuity are automatically added to the bill. For two adults it came out to 55.60. A wonderful gem of a restaurant!
My “Afternoon Tea Buddy” and I visited for the first time today. What an amazing gem this Cafe is! Beautifully decorated with quality furnishings, linen and China. A HUGE collection of China with beautiful cups, saucers, teapots, (real) soup bowls, plates that either all match, or compliment each other. Shabby chic is fun sometimes, but it’s also nice to enjoy the real thing too. The service is warm, friendly & knowledgeable. You are not rushed! And the food is out of this world outstanding!!! The scones were moist & warm. The potato soup was absolutely delicious and the tea sandwiches were perfection. We cannot wait to go back. What a treat to sip different teas, eat amazing food in a delightful and QUIET cafe. Just go!
